Friendly or not so friendly reptiles - First day experiences

Naja Sumatrana

Otherwise known as Equatorial Black Sitting cobra

On our first day in Singapore, on our "look 'n' see" visit, back in January, we were taken up to Kent Ridge. One of our first photos was of this snake eating a frog. We have since found out it is a Equatorial black spitting cobra (naja sumatrana) It is highly venomous and confrontation should avoided!!!! We didn't realize how lucky then we were to have seen this. Also can you spot the cockroach hiding in a crevice of the trunk above it?

Not a bad first day!
